Participating Institutions

Such a vast effort as Bécalos requires a very close nit relationship with the main education institutions in the country. The proposed alliance with them has rendered very positive results that point the program in the correct direction.

Among them some of the most important are the Ministry of Education (SEP) and the ministries of education within each of the states, which double the recourses of the program. Also involved are the National Autonomous University of México (UNAM), the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), the Colegio de Bachilleres, the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM) the Centros de Estudios Científicos y Tecnológicos Estatales, the Mexican Academy of Science, and the Technological and Autonomous State Universities. According to the criteria established by Bécalos, these institutions select the teachers and student that receive the scholarship.

The presence of public and private institutions and their important collaboration show that Bécalos education project motivates and stimulates a large sector of México’s society.
